"Venice of The East"

Divine Villas are located 12 km from the center of Chania, which is the second biggest city on the island and the capital of the Chania region. Chania is an ideal destination for those who want to combine sun, beach life and excursions around the island.

The city is known for its old famous Venetian Harbor, which is surrounded by restaurants, bars, shops, bazaars and nightclubs. This old part of the city is an attraction in itself with its old facades, narrow alleys, canals and the Venetian fortress. This city has often been called “Venice of the East”, and you will not be surprised why, when you visit.

Did you know

  • Chania has the largest amount of water in Crete, resulting in rich olive and citrus trees
  • Chania is revealed to be the site of the ancient town Kydonia
  • Chania is marked by Venetian and Ottoman architecture
  • The climate of Crete is the mildest of all Greece

When old meets new

The original Venetian lighthouse was built in the late 16th century, primarily to protect the harbor from outside attacks. It is worth going all the way to the end of it, you get a great view of the harbor! Chania is divided into two parts: the old city and the modern part.

In the modern neighborhoods you will find shopping streets, green parks and modern buildings. Chania is known for its famous leather street and the market days in the Market Hall! Do not miss the opportunity to find some delicious Greek specialties at this market.
